MAINTENANCE FACILITY COORDINATOR
Position Type: Permanent Full Time
Department: Manufacturing
Reports to: Tolga Postaci, Site Director
Location: Mississauga
MISSION
Oversee and co-ordinate all facility maintenance. Perform mechanical repairs to machinery and provide input and assistance to Maintenance where required. Member of Health & Safety Committee and provide input and take actions regarding safety issues.
Maintenance
Purchase materials and parts pertaining to machinery/equipment repairs.
Assist in decisions regarding new equipment, installations, cost savings for the production floor
Assist employees and supervisors to help improve production day to day issues and implement solutions.
Member of Production, Lean, 5S and Manufacturing teams and have active role leading and implementing projects.
Maintain the Preventive Manual (PM) and execute any action items from the audit.
Facility
Complete repairs to building or obtain quotes and coordinate contractors for repairs (roof repairs, shipping doors, forklift trucks), boiler inspection.
Order production/maintenance/facility materials as required (salt, racking, janitorial supplies, repair parts, etc.)
Review contracts with outsides sources (garbage disposal, janitorial, GFL, Cintas)
Co-ordinate fire and sprinkler system inspections and boiler inspections as required
Assist with design and implementation in production floor, shipping, and/or raw materials layout improvements.
Coordinate responsibilities through landlord where required (snow removal, landscaping, paving, repairs to building covered by landlord)
Health & Safety
Attend JHSC meetings and have an active role in health & safety.
Conduct training to plant employees – WHMIS refresher, back training, defibrillator/CPR refresher, emergency procedures (shutdowns, spill control)
Conduct Workplace Inspection Audits
Obtain WSIB Clearance Certificates from contractors as required.
Co-ordinate disposal of hazardous waste and maintains all documentation for hazardous wastes, prepare manifest.
Maintain documentation for nonhazardous waste disposal.
Maintain HWIN database for hazardous and nonhazardous waste disposal.
Review MSDS’s and prepare master labels for MSDS binder.
Prepare reports: annual Grenelle report for corporate, waste management reports.
Warehouse & Production Support
Assist warehouse employees with picking, shipping, receiving, and putting away of inventory
Assist with the assembly of Engineered Products as required
Pack finished components and move components to finished goods area.
Build custom skids or crates for finished goods as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Journeyman’s Maintenance Certificate or equivalent field
Minimum 3 years working experience as Maintenance Mechanic Machinist, or similar role with similar responsibilities
Fork truck license / Scissor lift license
Joint Health Committee Certificate (Part 1- Part 2),preferred
St. John's Ambulance training, preferred
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Dependable, high-energy level and self-motivated
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent time management skills.
Strong initiative and good organizational skills are necessary
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
