When you tell me precisely what bad things will happen if a privately owned corporation is allowed to do what is in the best interests of their shareholders, I will consider it. No one's thrown up any specific reasoning why this deal is a bad thing aside from some vague xenophobic nonsense.
Unless you own a substantial share of the stock in that company, butt out. MYOB.

UNOCAL is number 258 on the S&P top 500

He's my congressman and he lies like a rug. He ran on and got elected by promising term limits for the House of Representatives. Three terms (6 years) he said was adaquate. It was deemed both necessary and proper, he said, to continually have fresh people in Congress. That was sixteen years ago. He's just another professional political poser, injecting himself and the government into the affairs of private industry, further exerting control over private property and individual liberty.

4。Well, I'm kind of hoping it's SOMEBODY'S place to regulate it.
What I'm seeing is that companies "rob Peter to pay Paul". And my name is Peter. Over and over and over, until I'm down to my undies. And no one seems to see anything wrong with that. In fact, I believe I am totally invisible, and anything that happens to me is A-OK with everybody, because I was just a blight on the system anyway. Funny, it didn't seem that way as I work my ax off for decades and put my total trust in what they were telling me.....
5。This is a funny conversation. Just thought i would add the comment,
Any time you allow a government or individual politician to be supported in their race for power you have sewn the seed of corruption and merely elected puppets. When a man has a debt he is forever in debt to that debtor and can truly never repay him.
