本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I'm sorry but anyone that thinks this isn't racially motivated is dead wrong! I've seen it first hand. I've even heard some comments come from some of the members on here. "The Bucket Brigade that claim "Me No Speak English"" It's funny cause I agree that there is an issue with ignorance in the "Foreign Communities" whether it be blatant or pure. But what a lot of folks don't understand it that these first generation folks coming from all over the world are also still bringing the mentality of "Feed The Family, Fill The Bucket" It's unfortunate that they're doing so for the most part with no repercussions what so ever for keeping short fish, too many fish or even for not possessing a license. All at the expense of our waters and those of us that do care.
One of the things I hate about Ontario, (and Canada) is the fact that the Government didn't put priority on things that should have been of the up-most importance. The MNR IS A JOKE! Their counter part here in the States, ( The DEC) has their crap Together and have for a long time. They've been well established from the start. The Govt in Canada in general hasn't taken care of it's core. The basic needs of the the land itself. Too much bickering, too much over-looked, and too many special interests and ass patting, what ever it may be they need to establish certain things before all the other crap! Taking care of the land and country should have been and should be one of their first concerns.
I understand the dislike for the "bucket brigade" and the concern people get when it comes to their town. I realize what these people are doing to our fisheries. I've seen what they leave behind on the shores, but lets face it. They're going to keep on doing it until either the access is denied or the MNR and local police are more active. People do things that are wrong and will keep on doing them when there is no-one checking. Why not! The odds game that some of these folks play with the extreamly under-staffed MNR is highly stacked in their favor.
In my own opinion as an Asian-Canadian and through what I've seen and heard from my family and others, IT'S UNDENIABLY RACISM. No matter how you cut it. That article was even stating how the kids thought it was cool and would brag about "Niptippin" I'm sorry but the word "Nip" (a derogatory nickname from the 40's for the Japanese during the war), is a racist comment. I've got family that was here at that time and had to deal with ridiculous amounts of BS cause of the war. It was just as bad for them as it was for some of our native populations. if not more-so at the time. Camps, constant comments, basically fearing for their lives. The WWII sentiment toward the Japanese was not exactly a good one. So this term "Niptipping" is a racist comment. I also find it really ironic because most of the Asian community that are going out there are not Japanese. (We all look the same, eh?)

Sorry for the rant but Denial is sometimes just as bad and if not more harmful that the act itself. These issues need to be brought out to deal with them. When no one is in denial of what is really going on then and only then can a resolve be found.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
