I read your article published on Toronto Sun on Oct 2nd.
Frankly I was shocked and I don't know if Canada is still a safe
country to live in.
I am not an angler at all. But generally, I think the violent
behavior of some of the local people in Westport are barbaric and
unacceptable, worse than the alleged "poaching" (if there were any).
What I want to say is, if these local people could report these
alleged "poaching" to the MNR or police, we would be just as happy
as they would. We would be glad to see illegal poachers, whoever
they might be, to be fined, charged, put behind the bars, even beaten
and drown and stabbed and shot to death if they deserve according
to the law of Canada ( which I highly doubt, forgive me for my
ignorance). One condition though, all these must be carried out
by authorities. Because authorities are authorized to do these
by the civilized advanced democratic system of Canada. If any
unauthorized people can carry out those actions and think they are
doing that on behalf of the authorities, wouldn't this country
fall into turmoil and fall apart ? I am scared to death when they
got their voice heard via your article that they will throw people
into the water, even kill them if these anglers dare to go fishing
there again, (oh sorry I forgot to quote, "Asian fishermen"). I
am not an angler why would I get scared to death you may ask ?
Because if crazy people like them would go over the line to kill
who dare to go over and take away a portion of "their" fish
resources, who knows any other crazy people wouldn't kill us for
competing in the job market or business or place of living against
them? We thought there are rules and as long as we follow we don't
have to get worried about having our heads chopped off or held in
water or shot some holes on them, now we don't have this solid
faith any more!
Please tell me that Canada is still safe to live in, please
tell the police details about those threats you reported to prevent
them from happening, and let civilized legal way prevail in Canada.
