Since there do have people coming from Toronto, yes, 4 hours driving, for fishing in this small town in the middle of the night, my only reasonable conclusion I could get from this is probably the same as yours(the reporter here).

the number of available fishing spots around GTA area has been reducing so dramatically in the last few years and/or the fishing spot in westport is so good and other places are just non-comparable.

To be honest, the best answer to these questions should be from these fishing enthusiasts. I asked one guy before why he wants to go fishing at night, the answer from him was the crappies are more active during the night, especially when fishing with a super-bright lamp.
Personally, I despise fishing with such equipments but what I can say, myself usually go out fishing with even more advanced techno-gears, (carbon rod/fish finder/gps locator/trolling motor/all types of artificial lures). How could I blame some old-fashion fishing tricks that work like a charm. Since they don't have all the gadgets I have, they might have to settle down for driving 4 hours and fishing late night with a bright lamp along with a rod.

Does that answer your question, my friend?

  • 枫下沙龙 / 枫下钓鱼 / There have been a lot of Asian-Canadian fishing in or area in the last few years. Why do they always fish at night, and why would anybody come from Toronto for a 4 hr drive only to fish here at night?
    • because they have jobs during the day; what are you inferring anyway ? is fishing during the night illegal?
    • Because fishing is fun and worth the 4 hour drive, why do you care anyway ? Do you want to provide carpool or anything ?
    • If the number of anglers is overwhelming, pass some law to put restriction on it legally, that's the only way acceptable

    • There have been a lot of Westport locales in area in the last few years. Why do they always come to toronto at day and night, and why would they come from Westport for a 4 hr drive only to fool around at day and night in Toronto?.
    • Good enought, here is my phone please call : 613-273-8000, or email me "msmits@review-mirror.com"
      • no problem. One question, why are some local people there so violent ? Why do they threat to stab and kill us ? Shall we Torontonians threat them in the same way if any Westport people want to find a job or open a business here in Toronto ?
