but not sure what is too early.. if My visa expired on Aug 24.. I went there on
Aug 4.. is that too early ? I think in two weeks might be perfect timing..but I cannot go in two weeks.. my company seems not help a lot for my visa things. they had resource issue in Aug, don't want me to take off during 2 weeks timeframe...

could anybody let me know if you renew your TN visa after two weeks timeframe before TN visa expired ? I could have some idea...and it could help me to talk with my manager about it..

HI,

I'm going to renew my TN visa at the Rainbow Bridge in Aug..

My visa would expired on Aug 24.

not sure if I could come to renew one month early or there is some time limit on how early I could renew..

I don't know where I got this impression I need to renew my visa in two weeks before my visa expired..

is that true ?

any suggestion would be apprecaited.

thanks. I heard about mail-in ..but that need my employer to fill in the form. I asked our HR, they are not going to help me on that. they said they either find a lawyer for me to fill that form but that would cost a lot to me..more than 1,700 US$.. -e2sh(riverdance); 2008-7-9 (#4546533@0)

But don't go too later, in case there is sth. wrong, and ur TN expires on tmr, they wouldn't let u go back and fix the problem.
Also if u go too early, they would ask u to come back later.
I personally think it is safe to go for a renew when ur TN is expiring in 2 weeks.

Yes. The official will allow you to enter US using old I-94. I was rejected at Lewiston bridge once three weeks before the expiration date (Saturday). I just went back to Canada, tried next day at Rainbow and got approved (Sunday). -steve888(Steve曾经曰过); 2008-7-10 (#4548474@0)

Maybe this is one of the reasons. He looked so tired and sad that day. He rejected me very quickly without reviewing the documents carefully. When I asked reasons, he just gave me many reasons. -steve888(Steve曾经曰过); 2008-7-10 {861} (#4548972@0)
1. I was using the education evaluation from a US laywer. He said he only accepted the evaluation from University of Toronto.
2. He said there's no TN specialist there. He was not sure my document was enough.
3. He said Lewiston bridge was not responsible for NAFTA related entries. NAFTA related things should go to Rainbow or Peace bridge.
4. He said he never heard about my employer.
5. He said the employment letter wasn't longer enough to describe my job detail.

He also told me that there's no record for the rejection because my current TN was still valid and i could work until the expiration date.

OK. I think he just didn't want to give me the TN. I used the same document to get the TN previous year at Lewiston, also it was on Saturday.

Then next day I went to Rainbow and got my new TN using the same document without any changing.

Normally, they will only renew or approve your TN-status, F1-Status for canada citizen in two weeks or less before it expired or took effect, it's just a guideline, no public document. But always, you can try, every officer is diff. Good luck. -gtaon08(GtaOn); 2008-7-10 (#4548544@0)
