@BC

in my very last approved TN, employment letter says Engineer ( Software Quality Assurance). The letter for TN says category: Engineer ( Software Engineering). But I would suggest you use the same title as the TN category you applied. Just my 2 cents.

Just to avoid unnecessary confusion. sometimes, border officers are stupid and do not tolerant any flexibility.
For example, if you apply under 'Compute system Analyst', make your employment letter title to be computer system analyst and job description matches this title in OOH or O'net. Same if you apply under Software Engineer, make your employment letter to have same title and description as software engineer. As to which category to apply, it depends on your degree. If your degree is computer science, computer system analyst might be better. If your degree is engineering, software engineer might be better, cause I have a degree in computer science, and was questioned by a border officer saying I must have an engineering degree or software engineering to apply for Software Engineer.

  • 枫下茶话 / 美国话题 / 请教各位,Software QA Analyst 签 TN 可以吗? 签啥职位呢?是 Computer Analyst 吗? Thanks!
    • I have a title of 'software QA engineer' and applied under Engineer (software engineer). My suggestion is try to match your job duties on employment letter to those positions job description on OOH or O'net no matter which category you apply.
      No matter you apply under 'computer system analyst' or 'software engineer', try to match your job duties on employment letter to those positions job description on OOH or O'net, to avoid unnecessary confusion from border officer. They may just refuse you if they feel it's mismatch or get confused.
    • Thanks!
    • sfbay, one more question: so in your company's offer letter, your tilte is QA engineer, and in the letter for TN, the title is Software Engineer or still QA engineer? Thank you very much!
      I just wondering if I need to modify the job title in the letter for TN.
      • Search for his post. I recall he was refused TN.
        • Got it , thanks.
