Subject: Chinese mother killed herself 1 month after CAS seized her baby

A Chinese mother took her 20 months old baby to various clinics and hospitals a month ago. She complained her baby might have bleeding inside his lung. I don't know the details but one doctor called CAS. CAS worker came and decided CAS should take away the baby. The baby was later returned to his father on condition that the mother cannot stay with the children alone. A month later, the mother killed herself.

There was a huge discussion among Chinese community at http://www.rolia.net/f/list.php?b=50&c=5100; you can find further details at this web site. Unfortunately, most discussion were written in Chinese. But I really appreciate if you can request Minister of Children to launch a public inquiry to see if such disaster can be avoided in future.

            I have 2 children myself and I recalled when they were small (less than 5), they also had very frequent nose bleeding. I was kind of panic for my first born and took my baby to see doctor. He examined by baby and told me it was very common for baby and little children to have nose bleeding. I didn't even bother to take my second baby to see doctor when the same thing happened.
