Spouses and Children Spouses and children (unmarried children under the age of 21) who are accompanying or following to join NAFTA Professionals (TN visa holders) may receive a derivative TD visa. Applicants must demonstrate a bona fide spousal or parent-child relationship to the principal TN visa holder. Dependents do not have to be citizens of Mexico or Canada. Spouses and children cannot work while in the U.S. They are permitted to study. Canadian citizen spouses and children do not need visas, but they must have the following documents at the port of entry: * Proof of Canadian citizenship; * Proof of relationship to the principal applicant, such as marriage certificate and birth certificate; and * Photocopies of entry documents of the principal applicant.

如果是常住（半年以上）就用TD先住着（如果是暂住什么都不用），找到工作再申请TN就行了，持TD期间不允许工作（黑工除外）。申请TN是否顺利要看申请的职位和个人教育，经验背景，如果符合条件，申请非常简单。 -wtn(大队会计咸啫啫); 2009-7-16 (#5423433@0)

在美国的status和合法停留的时间是你进入美国时给你发的I-94上规定的。一般给visitor的I94是六个月。你的I94的status是跟你进入美国的目的相连的。如果你陪同你TN配偶一起搬过来，还是用TD比较好，I94有效期会是和TN一样的，一年，甚至三年。
