I just read the recent article "Too Asian". I feel very upset about what you indicated in the article.
I am a mother, deep down I would not only like my kids to be good at education, but also I care about their other skills. I believe all parents in the world want their kids to be good, if possible, in both social skills and academic achievement. We all know that parents' guidance to young kids is very important. Your articles criticize that we force our kids to do what they don't like? What's the evidence? How can we? If so, they'll give up soon after they have their own opinions. Have you ever do the statistics about what kinds of students got failure most? Is it Asian student? If so, you shouldn't worry about the so-called 'culture balance'.
We came from Asia, but we are Canadians now. We love Canada for its fairness and peace. We also contribute to the society at least the same as others if not more. Since we want our kids to be a contributor, we don't want them to spend too much time on drinking, to drug on the streets, and to be lazy and become the burden of this society. What's wrong with that??
As Canadian major media, you didn't advocate good values (hard-working and fair competition), but you criticize these values. What do you want to lead our young generation? Laziness? Unfairness? You raise 'culture balance' and stir the racism. Feel shame on you!!!
You must apologize in public!! Otherwise you'll lose all Asian parents' support!!更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
