一印度裔研究生speak out: I am so sick of this whole "asian" stereotype, that asians are some sort of specifically gifted competitive minority

I am so sick of this whole "asian" stereotype, that asians are some sort of specifically gifted competitive minority.

The people who were in their home countries and got educated and had money left. It's that simple. It's bigger in American where the immigration policy skewed towards people who already had college degrees/ were coming here for education. Take a cross section of people of all ethnicities from the same educational background and socio-economic status and you'll realize that there is simply a skewed pattern of immigration out of Asian countries.

I'm Indian. My father has a graduate degree. Is it really surprising that I'm in graduate school or that I'm competitive?

I read the article this morning - coincidentally while on campus of the university I attend, which is one named in the article as being 'Too Asian'.
I found the most absurd point (in the entirely absurd article) to be the 'concern trolling': masking the overt racism of the anonymous commenters and, I would argue, the writers themselves, behind a false 'concern' that Asian students are 'segregating' themselves. I mean, what?
I had to keep myself from headdesking right then and there, at the table I was sharing with two asian girls . Yup, that's right Macleans! They aren't all locked in their rooms studying! They come out! They sit at tables with white girls! Craaaaaazy, right?
