Workplace Politics: real situation for analyse

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛It's an integration project in a big organization. Project team consists of a project manager, two programmer ( a Chinese immigrant and a local). PM has only conceptual thoughts about the implementation. Project team meet every once a week. The Chinese immigrant works very hard to learn every aspect of the solution, report progress and thoughts to PM before the meeting. Got very few positive response.

The local programmer ofter SSH back to his machine at home to do private work, always satisfied with some general idea, don't want to work hard on the detail.

In the meeting, the local programmer utilizes the language advantage, speak most of the time, as if he did all the job. When the Chinese guy speak out his hard-earned solution, the local try to interrupt as if he knew it all.

Once, PM gave a assignment. The Chinese guy worked it out independently and built a demostration, when the local asked, the Chinese gave all the information to the local. In the meeting after, the local gave no credit to the Chinese.

What can this Chinese do? Please share your thoughts.
I think many Chinese experienced it befor, right now or will in the future.
Thanks.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

    • Well, it's a real hard situation. You may take vacation and let the local guy take some responsibility independly.
