枫下茶话 / 美国话题 / 问个关于从加拿大签F1去美国上学的问题在美国使馆签证网站上看到一条对于签F1签证的护照要求，如下：
Valid Passport (valid for at least 6 months past the intended stay in the U.S.)
我在美国的program就一年，从今年8月到明年8月，但是我的中国护照是明年7月到期，按照上面的要求肯定是invalid了。上周去了中国驻toronto领事馆，不给我renew我的护照。不知道是不是如果不符合上面护照要求的肯定被据签呢？
请有经验的大虾回答！实在不成就要挂失护照了！

No problem, you will have to extend your Chinese passport in the States next year. It is too early to extend it now in Toronto.

thank you guys so much. I just don't wanna get shit on my passport problem. coz if i could not get visa that means i have to postpone my study to next year and probably waste another year.

Try to "extend" your passport, usually another 5 years. And try to explain the situation to them, show the website infor to them as well.

拿着你和美国领事馆面试的confirm letter，学校的offer, 这两样的原件和复印件，到中国多伦多领事馆，办就可以了。我上个星期才办的。
